Omaha, NE : Man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident in northwest Omaha early Saturday, April 16, 2016

An Omaha man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that fatally injured a pedestrian.

Police say the accident occurred early Saturday in northwest Omaha when an eastbound vehicle crossed into the westbound lane of a street and struck the pedestrian, who was in the street because there is no sidewalk. The driver fled north in his vehicle.

Police said in a news release early Monday morning that the driver has been found and arrested. Online court records don't show that he's been charged yet. Police say he's a 27-year-old Omaha man.
