Monett, MO : 2 injured in wreck on Highway 86 north of Eagle Rock on Sunday, January 1, 2017

Two people were injured Sunday after a wreck at 11:40 a.m. on Highway 86, one mile north of Eagle Rock.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Marc Miller, 21, of Eagle Rock, was driving a 2010 Toyota Scion eastbound when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a sign, overturned and came to rest in some trees.

Miller suffered moderate injuries, and a passenger in the vehicle, Cheyenne Engman, 19, of Shell Knob, suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.

Neither were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle was totaled.

According to Highway Patrol reports, Miller was arrested by the Highway Patrol on Saturday for driving while intoxicated, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of synthetic narcotics and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the Barry County Sheriff's Office, he was held from 2:20 p.m. Saturday to 3:16 a.m. on Sunday.
