Jemison, AL : 83-year-old man was killed, women injured in a single-car crash off Interstate 65 in Jemison Tuesday afternoon on July 1, 2014

An 83-year-old man was killed and a passenger in his vehicle was injured in a single-car crash off Interstate 65 in Jemison Tuesday afternoon.

Bunion Porter, of Jemison, was pronounced dead on the scene of the wreck, which happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday, Chilton County Coroner Awlahjaday Agee said.

The older model Buick Porter was driving got off Interstate 65 southbound at Exit 219 and never came to a stop, crossing County Road 42 and going down an embankment, flipping a couple of times, Agee said.

A female passenger was taken to UAB Hospital, he said.

Porter was pronounced dead at the scene.
