Oak Ridge, TN : Oak Ridge Police Officer, former Vandy football player hurt in crash on Sunday, July 6, 2014

Former Central stand-out and Oak Ridge Police Officer Cassen Jackson-Garrison was hurt in a crash, according to his wife's Facebook account.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Rutgers Avenue and Illinois Avenue.

Police say Jackson-Garrison was the only one in his cruiser. He was taken to U.T. Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people were in the other car. Officers say they were taken to Methodist Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jackson-Garrison graduated from Central in 2004. He was a three-year starter at running back, team captain and recipient of the Tennessee Mr. Football award.

He then went on to play for Vanderbilt.

It is unclear what his condition is at this time.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is now investigating the wreck.
