SEBRING, FL : Biker critically injured in Saturday accident on Saturday, November 19th 2016
An unidentified 52-year-old Sebring man was critically injured after his bike collided with a SUV at 2:05 p.m. Saturday at Schumacher Road and Seattle Avenue, authorities said.
The driver of the second vehicle, Mary Burgess, 75, of Liverpool, New York, was going south on Seattle Avenue approaching Schumacher Road, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The bike was going west on Schumacher when Burgess failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled in a southerly direction in the westbound lane of Schumacher Road, authorities added.
Her Kia Sorento collided with the Honda, and the biker was thrown off his bike, FHP added.
He was not wearing a helmet, FHP said. Burgess was not injured. The biker was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital.
