Pontotoc County , MS : 29 -Years old woman and two children killed in Single Vehicle Crash after she lost control and overturned several times along Highway 9 on Friday ,March 6th 2015

Lingering ice from this week's winter storm caused a single-vehicle wreck that killed a woman and two of her children in Pontotoc County.

Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers responded to the accident around 10:15 a.m. Friday on Highway 9. It appeared that a 2006 Pontiac driven by 29-year-old Catina McBride, of Calhoun City, was traveling south when it hit a patch of ice, lost control and overturned several times.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1EXRGpw ) McBride and her 11-year-old daughter, Kaninya Guyton, died at the scene. Two other children were airlifted to LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, where 5-year-old Kadiya McBride later died.

An 8-year-old child remains in critical condition.

None of the vehicle's occupants appeared to be wearing safety belts.
