Gorham,ME : Skateboarder injured after being hit by car in Gorham on may, Tuesday 30th 2017

A skateboarder suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Gorham Tuesday night.

The crash happened on New Portland Road just after 9 p.m.

Ramon Saravia, 77, of East Waterboro, hit Tyler Cartwright, 24, of South Portland, police said.

Cartwright was in the middle of the lane, police said. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center

New Portland Road was closed between Bartlett Street and Libby Avenue while police investigated.

Police said neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.
