Whitehall Township, PA : Allentown man charged with stealing car found crashed at Route 22 westbound ramp on MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township on Saturday, 21st July 2018

An Allentown man was charged with burglary and theft Saturday after a stolen car was found crashed at the Route 22 westbound ramp on MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.

Luis Feliz was taken into custody Saturday after he fled from the vehicle, according to court documents.

Feliz, 23, of Allentown, was charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, unauthorized use of a vehicle, theft, reckless driving and driving without a license.

According to court records:

About 4 a.m. Saturday, Whitehall Township police tried to stop a gray car that was northbound on MacArthur Road. The driver didn’t stop and sped through two red lights.

After the car crashed, police found several checkbooks in it and $174 in cash.

The owner of the car, who lives in Allentown, told police someone entered her home through a window, took almost $200 in cash and the keys to her car.
