Anacortes, WA : Four people injured in collision on Highway 20 on Thursday, April 6, 2017
A three-car collision on Highway 20 at N. Dewey Beach Drive on South Fidalgo Island injured four people around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.
The accident occurred when a northbound 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven an Oak Harbor man, crossed the center line and hit a southbound 2007 Kia Amanti driven by an Oak Harbor man, and came to rest in the southbound ditch.
A third vehicle, a 2005 Hyundai Elantra that was traveling behind the Kia struck debris from the collision.
The driver of the PT Cruiser and one of his passengers were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, according to the release. Two more passengers from that vehicle were also injured and transported to Island County Hospital.
No one else was injured.
Drugs and/or alcohol are believed to be involved, according to the news release.
The PT Cruiser and Kia were considered totaled. The Hyundai was driven from the scene.
The collision is under investigation.
