COLUMBIA, SC : 1 dead after hitting highway sign, tree in Lexington County crash on Wednesday, 11th September 2024

One person is dead following a crash in Lexington County Wednesday afternoon.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) said the crash occurred at around 4:36 p.m. on Fish Hatchery Road at Kimmey Road.

A 2018 Ford F150 driving north on Fish Hatchery Road veered off the left side of the highway, before hitting a highway sign and then a tree.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the driver as Johnnie Elmer Fulmer III, 66, of Gaston.
