East Point, GA : Boy dies after crash with car being followed by police in South Fulton County on Thursday, June 30, 2016
Police say a boy has died after being injured in a car crash involving a vehicle that was being followed by authorities.
East Point Police Sgt. Patrena Smith tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the boy died Thursday after spending several days on life support.
Capt. Cliff Chandler says the crash happened when a woman accused of stealing a car at an Atlanta gas station was pursued from Atlanta to East Point Monday.
Chandler says police followed the woman driving the car closely and she sped off, eventually crashing into the vehicle carrying the 8-year-old boy.
Authorities say Ana Kristina Bolton is charged with theft by receiving, fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault and hijacking a motor vehicle.
Chandler says additional charges are pending. It’s unclear if Bolton has an attorney.
