HATTIESBURG, MS : Man dies in early morning crash in Hattiesburg on West 4th Street on Thursday, 23rd August 2018

A man killed in an early morning crash in the Hub City has been identified.

Hattiesburg Police Department spokesman Ryan Moore said the single-vehicle crash happened around 4 a.m. on West 4th Street. Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict identified the victim at 40-year-old Miguel de Leon.

Moore said a man driving a 1999 Ford E-350 van on West 4th Street crashed on the Longleaf Trace near Oliver Avenue. The van hit multiple fence posts before coming to a stop, Moore said.

Benedict pronounced the man dead at the scene.
