A 27-year-old man died early Monday morning as the result of a crash believed to be caused by fatigue, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Mario Zuniga of Farmers Branch, Texas was pronounced dead just three miles north of Thackerville. Zuniga was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 at the time. Trooper reports claim that Zuniga fell asleep while driving his 2003 General Motors Box Van causing him to crash the van.
He then overcorrected toward the right, causing him to depart the roadway on the opposite side. Zuniga struck a guardrail and rolled his vehicle three-fourths of a time, according to the report.
Zuniga was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, and the vehicle eventually landed on its right side, according to the report.
