SUMMERVILLE, SC : Victim identified in fatal auto-pedestrian accident on Trolley Road in Summerville on Thursday, 20th October 2016

Officials with the Summerville Police Department say one person is dead following an auto pedestrian accident Thursday night.
According to Summerville dispatch officials, the incident happened in the area of 1645 Old Trolley Road near Pivotal Fitness.
The victim, Veronica Drayton, 51, was crossing the road when she was struck, according to the Dorchester County Coroner.
Authorities had shut down a part of the road as crews worked the scene.
Traffic was being rerouted as well.
In addition to police, crews with the fire department also responded.
Residents in the area reported a large police presence as well as road closures in the area.
