Grand Rapids,MI : Man thrown off of car during crash on I-196, driver flees on December, Sunday 3rd 2017
Grand Rapids Police Department wants help from the public after a bizarre pair of hit-and-run crashes early Sunday morning.
GRPD said there was a report of a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of Fourth Street and Valley Avenue NW.
The man who reportedly hit the vehicle tried to flee the scene, but the driver of the other car jumped onto his car.
According to police, the driver drove onto I-196 W with the other man on top of the car.
A woman in the car that was hit followed the other vehicle.
GRPD said that the two vehicles crashed at some point shortly after entering the I-196 Lane Avenue ramp.
The car with the man on top rolled over, sending that man off of the highway and onto the road below.
Investigators told 24 Hour News 8 that he is currently suffering several injuries, including cuts on his leg and a broken arm.
The driver of the car that rolled over fled the scene before police arrived.
