Wilmington, DE : Man seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at Philadelphia Pike and Edgemoor Road on Thursday morning, May 5, 2016

A man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash late Thursday morning north of Wilmington, according to state police and New Castle County paramedics.

Troopers were called at about 11:12 a.m. Thursday at Philadelphia Pike and Edgemoor Road in Pennyhill for a crash, Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said. The driver of one of the vehicles was seriously injured and transported to Christiana Hospital, he said.

The 80-year-old man was driving a sedan when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck pulling a trailer, paramedic Sgt. Abigail Haas said. He was treated on scene for a head injury, she said.

Two people in the truck were not injured in the crash, Haas said.
