A Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office squad car was damaged Tuesday in a crash.

A deputy cruiser and a pickup truck collided at an intersection on Howell Avenue south of Layton Avenue.

The cruiser sustained front and driver's side damage; the pickup truck had damage to the passenger side.

One lane of northbound Howell Avenue was blocked until just before 7 a.m.

The deputy driving the squad car was taken to Froedtert Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is home recovering.

The driver of the pickup refused medical treatment.

Milwaukee police cited the truck driver.
