A volunteer firefighter with the Harcourt Fire Department works on scene after a collision involving a Kia Sedona van and a Chevy Impala at the intersection of U.S. Highway 169 and Iowa Highway 175 Sunday afternoon. According to Josh Van Waes, Webster County sheriff’s deputy, Rachel Rasmusson, driving the Impala, failed to yield as she attempted to travel south through the intersection. The impact of the crash caused the van to take out a stop sign situated on the southside of the intersection. Rasmusson, of Algona, and a passenger in the Impala were not injured, according to Van Waes. Scott was transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle for minor injuries sustained in the crash, Van Waes reported.
