Allentown,PA : Woman hurt seriously in Turnpike Northeast Extension crash in Carbon on may, Wednesday 24th 2017
A 20-year-old woman was injured seriously Wednesday afternoon on the Turnike's Northeast Extension in Carbon County when her car hit a guardrail and a concrete median, police said.
Alexis E. Footman of Kingston, Luzerne County, was southbound on I-476, Penn Forest Township, at 4:34 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle, which crossed right before returning left, state police at Pocono said.
Footman's vehicle ended up in the left lane, Trooper Joseph Splendido said.
Lehighton EMS ambulance took Footman north to the Hickory Run Service Plaza, where she was transferred to a medical helicopter that flew her to St. Luke's University Hospital-Fountain Hill.
The Turnpike's right southbound lane was closed about 90 minutes during the cleanup and investigation.
