35-year-old Nampa man dies after rollover crash on Chinden Blvd. Tuesday night

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies are still trying to figure out what caused a 35-year-old Shane Lee Peterson to lose control of his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on West Chinden Boulevard late Tuesday night. Peterson was thrown from his truck as it rolled over and was fatally injured in the crash, according to Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
Another driver who saw the crash in his rear-view mirror called Ada County dispatchers just after 8:30 p.m.

Deputies say Nampa resident Peterson was driving his Tacoma westbound on Chinden, just east of Black Cat Road, when the truck went off the right shoulder.?It appears the man lost control of his truck when he tried to pull it back on the road.
Paramedics took the driver to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just before 9:30 p.m. Ada County Coroner's reports say Peterson's cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was an accident. It is unclear if Peterson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Deputies closed the portion of Chinden between Black Cat Road and Ten Mile Road for several hours while crews investigated the crash and removed debris from the road.
