FLORENCE, AL : A man killed during a fiery crash on Saturday, August 5, 2017
Local authorities are hoping the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences can use dental records to positively identify a man killed during a fiery crash early Saturday morning in Lauderdale County.
Lauderdale County Coroner Andy High said this morning that dental records of a person that could be the man killed in the wreck have been sent to the Huntsville forensic lab to be reviewed.
“Right now, that’s what we are waiting on,” High said.
The unidentified man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Saturday around 1:30 a.m. north of Florence in the Cloverdale area.
Senior Trooper Johnathan Appling said the victim's body could not be identified.
Officials at the scene said all printed forms of identification burned in the crash.
Appling said the accident happened 10 miles north of Florence, on Lauderdale 85, which is just off of Lauderdale 5, in the Cloverdale community.
