CHELAN COUNTY, WA : Driver that crashed into Lake Chelan dies in hospital a month later on Sunday, 9th June 2024

Washington State Patrol said drugs and/or alcohol were involved in the fatal car crash that killed a 37-year-old Eric Korbely from Colville.

On May 13, WSP said the car was driving westbound on SR150 in Chelan. The car lost control and hit a guardrail on the eastbound side, before entering Lake Chelan.

Korbely was life-flighted to the hospital.

On June 10, WSP said Korbely died at the hospital.

The official cause of the crash is still under investigation.
