Crown Point, IN : Michigan man killed in I-94 crash in Lake County on Friday, April 1, 2016

A Bay City, Mich., man was killed on Friday when he lost control of his vehicle on I-80/94 in Lake County, the Indiana State Police said.

The victim was identified as Zachary R. Pacholke, 21.
According to police, at 5:37 a.m. Oliver was negotiating the ramp from the Indiana Toll Road to eastbound I-80/94 when he took the curve too fast, left the roadway to the north, and rolled multiple times.

Pacholke was pronounced dead at the scene of massive blunt force trauma, police said. “Pacholke was wearing his seatbelt but the impact was too severe for the restraint to save (him).”

Pacholke’s front-seat passenger, Austin T. Oliver, 22, also of Bay City--and also wearing his seatbelt--was transported with serious injuries to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary, police said.
