A pickup truck driver from Twin Falls was killed and a semi truck driver injured when the two collided head-on on U.S. Highway 93 Thursday afternoon.

Andria Perez died at the scene, said Nevada Highway Patrol. The semi driver was taken to a Utah hospital with moderate injuries.

Police said Perez was driving south in the northbound lane when her truck crashed into the semi about 16 miles north of Wells. Perez doesn’t appear to have tried to brake or avoid the collision and it is not clear why she was in the wrong lane.

First responders had to remove both drivers from their cars, and in addition to debris from the wreckage crews had to clean up pesticides that spilled onto the road. The road was closed for about five hours.
