Police are investigating after a woman crashed her minivan into a southern New Jersey townhouse over the weekend, decimating the residence’s first floor.
The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Pleasantville.
Police say the driver was attempting to maneuver into a parking space when she accidentally hit reverse and sent her van speeding into the dining room of a nearby home.
The family that lives inside the house was on the second floor at the time of the accident. They were uninjured.
The woman was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Police believe the crash was caused by “operator error.” The woman may be charged with careless driving.
