Van Wert, OH : Convoy-area woman dies in bicycle-van collision on Ohio 49 in Van Wert County on Sunday night, April 17, 2016

A rural Convoy, Ohio, woman died Sunday night when her bicycle collided with a van on Ohio 49 in Van Wert County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said today.

Police said Ray A. Litmer, 57, of Convoy was driving north on the state highway near milepost 15 about 8:35 p.m. when his van collided with a bicycle ridden by Crystle L. Brower, 39.

Brower died at the scene, police said. Litmer was not injured.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, police said. They said Ohio 49 was closed north of Wolfcale Road after the crash, but has reopened.
