Chipley, FL : Fort Rucker man dies in motorcycle accident in Washington County on Saturday evening, June 25, 2016

A two-vehicle accident Saturday evening involving a motorcycle and a Kia Sorrento claimed the life of a Fort Rucker man.

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Sean D. Hannes, 44, of Fort Rucker died when the Sorrento, driven by an 18-year-old Panama City resident, struck the back of the motorcycle Hannes was riding on Florida Highway 79 in Washington County, just south of Charlie Brown Road.

According to the release, Hannes was ejected from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the Sorrento suffered minor injuries. The investigation continues by Florida authorities.
