Woman dies after being struck by car on Southeast
A 70-year-old woman died late Friday night after she was struck by a car on S.E. Powell Blvd. and 133rd Ave.
The crash happened Friday at 6:24 p.m. Police did not say whether the woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit.
The driver who struck her stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said he wasn't impaired by alcohol or drugs.
The accident shut down several blocks of Powell for most of Friday evening. Investigators believe a combination of darkness, dense fog and the woman's dark clothing contributed to the crash.
The 67-year-old driver's estimated speed was 25-30 MPH.
