Urbana,IL : Coroner IDs man who died after collision on Danville bridge on November, Thursday 16th 2017

Authorities have released the name of a 52-year-old Indiana man who was killed in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon in downtown Danville.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said Michael S. Shanks of Kokomo was pronounced dead at 2:55 p.m. that day at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Northrup said preliminary results of an autopsy conducted Friday are pending. He added that an inquest may be held at a later date.
