MANSON, NC : One dead in fiery tractor trailer wreck on I-85 on July, Friday 21th 2017

One person has died following a fiery wreck involving two tractor trailers on Interstate 85 in Warren County, officials said.

The wreck closed I-85 for hours Friday afternoon.

Two tractor-trailers and four passenger vehicles were involved in the crash and the highway was closed in both directions, the State Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. near Exit 223, and one of the trucks caught fire afterward, according to Sgt. Mike Baker with the Highway Patrol.

Northbound lanes opened after about an hour, and southbound traffic was shifted to the northbound side at about 5 p.m., officials said.
