Tucson, AZ : Suspects injured in crash on I-19 near Tubac on Friday, January 22, 2016
Two suspects in a stolen truck, fleeing from Arizona Department of Public Safety were injured in a crash on I-19 on Friday, Jan. 22. The driver had minor injuries while the passenger has serious injuries.
According to a DPS news release, a DPS detective, assigned to the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force found a stolen truck in Green Valley at 3:24 p.m. When DPS troopers arrived on scene to assist the detective, the driver of the truck sped away.
The troopers pursued the truck, which was headed southbound on I-19, and exited at the Tubac exit. The driver lost control of the truck while trying to reenter the interstate, causing it to roll over several times before coming to a stop in the median.
The driver of the truck received minor injuries, while the passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt received serious injuries. The passenger was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.
According to DPS officials the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
