Tallahassee, FL : 1 dead, 1 injured in crash on John Young Parkway on Wednesday, March 22nd 2017

One person died and another was injured in a three-vehicle crash in south Orange County on Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 7:20 p.m. near South John Young Parkway and Commerce Park Drive, troopers said.Jeffrey Diaz, 46, of Orlando was driving south on John Young Parkway in a 2008 BMW 528i when he lost control and went into the northbound lanes, according to FHP.

His car collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Impala and a 2005 Honda Odyssey van, which were heading north.

Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP. One of the other two drivers had minor injuries.

Trooper Steven Montiero said Diaz was driving “above the posted speed limit.”
