Lexington, KY : Person dies after car strikes him on Highway 30 in Owsley County on Tuesday, March 29, 2016

Kentucky State Police say a person has died after being struck by a vehicle in Owsley County.

The crash happened around 9:30p.m. Tuesday on Highway 30, about 5 miles east of Booneville.

State Police say Dusty Stamper, 35, was walking west on KY 30 when he was struck by a Chevy Pickup truck operated by Donnie Coomer, 61. Stamper was taken to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson where he was pronounced dead by the Breathitt County Coroner.

The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
