STANDISH, MI : Arenac County woman dies after crash on Saturday, 19th October 2024

An Arenac County woman died over the weekend following a car crash early Saturday.

The single-vehicle crash happened at around 2:30 a.m. on Arenac State Road near Worth Road in Standish Township. Investigators say a passerby noticed the vehicle went off the road and called 911.

Emergency responders found the driver of the vehicle, 52-year-old Samara Lee Schwartz, badly injured. An ambulance rushed her to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Schwartz was the only person in the vehicle. Police will continue to investigate what caused her to crash.
