Camden, OH : 4 injured in vehicle-school bus crash on Ohio 177 and Oxford-Germantown Road, near Camden on Tuesday, September 23, 2014
An Eaton Community Schools bus was involved in a crash today near Camden as it was taking 22 middle and high school students home. Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson tells us, a black Jeep was stopped at a stop sign at Oxford-Germantown Road, but then pulled out into the path of the bus.
The bus hit the Jeep and both vehicles ended up in a ditch. The students on board couldn't get out the door, so they had to evacuate the bus from the back using a ladder. Two people in the Jeep were injured and taken to the hospital, while one student on the bus suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital by his parents.
The other students were taken home on a different bus. Sheriff Simpson says the bus driver's training kicked in and she did a good job maintaining control of the bus.
