MERRITT ISLAND, FL : Elderly man crashed into post office on Tuesday, December, 26th 2017

Authorities say an elderly Florida man crashed into a post office after accidentally stepping on the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the crash occurred Tuesday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol says the 82-year-old man was in the parking lot of the Merritt Island post office when he hit the wrong pedal and drove into the front of the building. He was cited for careless driving, and troopers recommended that he go through a driver’s license re-examination.
