Two people were injured in a three-car collision on Highway 34 near 250th Street in Tansem Township just after 7 p.m. June 6
Blake Wayne Anderson, 30, of Pelican Rapids was driving a Chevy Express van eastbound on Highway 34, when he became distracted by something and failed to notice a Ford Taurus, which had been travelling in front of him, stop to make a left-hand turn.
The Express van rearended the Taurus, which was then forced into a Toyota Camry travelling in the westbound lane.
The driver of the Taurus, Tammie Marie Gross, 45, of Hawley, and her passenger, Madison Paige Gross, 16, of Hawley, were both transported to Essentia Sanford Health in Detroit Lakes with non-life threatening injuries.
All involved except Anderson were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, which occurred on dry pavement.
Anderson walked away sans injuries as did the driver and passenger in the Toyota Camry: Chloe Marie Evenson, 20, of Pelican Rapids, and Cassandra Jean Jackson, 20, of Pelican Rapids, respectively.
According to reports, alcohol was not a contributing factor to the crash.
