Allentown, PA : Lower Macungie man dies of injuries in Brookside Road crash on Thursday, 29th September 2016

A 74-year-old Lower Macungie man died Thursday of injuries he suffered two days earlier when his car collided with a pickup truck in the township, police said.

Yoong K. Kim of Fresh Meadow Drive was injured at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday when he pulled east from Princeton Road into the pickup's path on Brookside Road, state police at Fogelsville said Friday.

Kim was taken by Macungie EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he died, Trooper Andrew Harris said.

Kim, who had a stop sign on Princeton Road, stopped but then failed to yield to the pickup driven by Michael D. Mory, 53, of Zionsville, who was going south on Brookside Road, police said.

Mory was not injured in the crash, which tossed both vehicles into Brookside's northbound lanes, police said.

Kim was trapped in his car and had to be extricated by a Lower Macungie fire rescue crew, according to police radio reports.
