Logansport,IN : 1 killed in early morning crash on September, Wednesday 20th 2017
A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of one Logansport man early Wednesday morning.
According to a Cass County Sheriff's Department press release, police received a call at 4:56 a.m. in reference to a serious crash on 700 East just south of 1150 South. The caller indicated to police that he discovered a crashed vehicle at that location, the release stated.
The release indicated that upon further investigation, police determined that a 2004 Grand Cherokee Jeep driven by Thomas Eric Lytle Jr., 23, was traveling northbound on 700 East near 1150 South when it left the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then traveled back across the roadway and struck a large utility pole, the release stated, before coming to rest on its side.
Police stated that Lytle Jr. was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Cass County Coroner Randy Rozzi.
The crash is still under investigation.
Assisting CCSD at the scene were the Galveston Fire Department and Prompt Ambulance Service.
