Tulsa, OK : Quapaw man dies after crash near Sand Springs on Saturday, 27th August, 2016

A Quapaw man was pronounced dead at the scene after hitting a tree just off 177th W. Avenue two miles west of Sand Springs Saturday.
Joe Joseph, 45, was driving northbound on 177th W. Avenue in a 2002 Ford Explorer when he departed the roadway for an unknown reason and struck the tree just after 6 p.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Joseph was pinned for about two and a half hours before he was freed by the Sand Springs Fire Department, according to a report.
The condition of the driver and cause of the crash is under investigation.
