Ocala, FL : Bicyclist killed in crash on CR 314 on Monday, March 20, 2017

A 67-year-old Ocala man riding a bicycle died Monday when he was hit by a pickup truck.

Robin Stewart Mills died at the scene following the 6:21 p.m. accident on County Road 314 at Northeast 63rd Court, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a Toyota T100 driven by Jesse Wayne Berry, 38, of Ormond Beach, was traveling east on CR 314 when it hit the bicyclist, who was also traveling east on the same road.

Mills was wearing a reflective vest and helmet, troopers said.

The investigation is ongoing. To date, 16 people have died in traffic-related crashes on Marion County roadways so far this year, compared with 13 this time in 2016.
