A pianist and singer for a Christian quartet was killed after the group’s RV crashed in Boone County Sunday.
Officials said the RV was traveling soutbound on I-65, just south of State Road 52, just after 2 a.m., when the RV left the roadway and crashed into a wooden median.
The driver, 61-year-old Roy Bray of Trenton, Ky. was pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Jim Hefner, 72, of Albertville, Ala. was transported to Methodist Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The other group members–Johnny Washburn, 61 of Gallant, Ala. and Donald Marr Jr. 39, of Albertville, Ala.–were uninjured.
The four men were part of the Christian singing group “The Southmen Quartet” and were on their way home from a performance in Shipshewana, Ind. Investigators are unsure of the cause of the accident, but the Boone County F.A.C.T. team was called to the scene to reconstruct the crash.
