BROWNHEIM TOWNSHIP, OH : Multiple people injured in 5-vehicle crash on Ohio 2 in Lorain County on Thursday, 27th October 2022
Two people were seriously injured and two others, including a 2-year-old child, were hospitalized after a five-vehicle crash Thursday on Ohio 2 in Lorain County.
The State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at about 5:18 p.m. east of Vermilion Road. Traffic on Ohio 2 already was backed up by a previous crash when a 2021 Lexus LX, driven by a 62-year-old Middleburg Heights man, was unable to stop and crashed into the back of a 1996 Ford F-250 driven by a 19-year-old Huron woman and with a 20-year-old male passenger on board.
The Ford was pushed forward and crashed into a 2019 Ram Promaster 3500 driven by a 32-year-old Mississippi man. The Ram was pushed into a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by a 37-year-old Huron man. The Fusion then hit a 2018 Lincoln MKC driven by a 26-year-old Vermilion woman with a 2-year-old girl in the back.
The driver of the Lexus, Paul Jeris, suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center, the patrol says. The passenger in the F-250, Alan Cleveland of Monroeville, was first taken to Mercy Health Lorain Hospital, then flown to MetroHealth.
