Nimishillen Township, OH : Sheriff investigates traffic crash as assault on Monday night October 27th 2014
Just before 10:30 p.m. Monday, the Stark County Sheriff's Office received a report of a traffic crash in the 7600 block of Tabernacle Street NE.
Deputies arrived at the scene of what appeared to be a two-vehicle crash.
A Toyota Avalon traveling north on Hebron Avenue NE being drivern by Nicholas E. Manoff, 18, was struck by a Ford F-250 driven by Charles W. Carr, 61, who was also traveling north bound.
The Avalon turned west onto Tabernacle Street NE and was allegedly intentionally struck by the driver of the F-250, running the Avalon off of the road and into the yard at 7600 Tabernacle Street NE.
Deputies were able to determine that the incident stemmed from a dispute in the 8000 block of Hebron Avenue NE involving Nicholas Manoff and Charles Carr, who are not related.
No injuries were reported as a result of the accident but Charles Carr was taken by the Nimishillen Township Fire Department to Mercy Medical Center for evaluation but not as a result of the collisions.
After further investigation, deputies say Charles Carr was later booked at the Stark County Jail for felonious assault and criminal damaging.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted the Stark County Sheriffs Office in the investigation.
