Roanoke, VA : One transported to hospital after wreck closes Garst Mill Road near Greenview Road on Saturday, 20th August, 2016

One person was transported to LewisGale Medical Center on Saturday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Garst Mill Road, a Roanoke police spokesman said.
Spokesman Scott Leamon said the driver swerved to avoid hitting an animal at about 3:20 p.m. The wreck felled the utility pole, closing both sides of Garst Mill Road near Greenview Road.
Leamon said he did not know the extent of the driver’s injuries.
