Charlotte, NC : CMPD investigating crash that shut down interstate on May 18th 2014

All lanes of Interstate 77 northbound were closed near Clanton Road after an early morning accident involving two vehicles.

When WBTV crews arrived to the scene early Sunday, a K-9 unit was assisting police officers with the investigation.

The vehicles involved sustained heavy damage. WBTV crews saw one of those cars pushed up against a guard rail.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating.
