FORT LEE ,NJ : 5-year-old, man killed in George Washington Bridge crash on June, Wednesday 14th 2017
At least two people were killed when an SUV slammed into the back of a commercial truck on the upper level of the George Washington Bridge Wednesday night, Port Authority spokesman Joseph Pentangelo said.
A GMC Acadia with New Jersey plates crashed into the truck as it was stopped in a traffic lane, Pentangelo said. Two people in the SUV, a 5-year-old child and a man in his 30s, were killed in the crash.
The other victims were identified as a woman in her 30s, another woman in her 70s and a one-year-old infant. They were being treated at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
The crash occurred on the eastbound side, heading into Manhattan, around 9:30 p.m. All upper level eastbound lanes were closed.
The names of the people killed was not immediately released.
