Harrison turned her Toyota Yaris into the path of the southbound Chevy Silverado and flatbed trailer, and was hit broadside just after 5 p.m. near the intersection of SR-18 and Frontier Road, said UHP Lt. Shawn Hinton.
Both vehicles slid off the road and through a fence, where the Toyota slammed into a tree on the driver's side, pinned by the truck. Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, 47-year-old Veyo resident Troy Hall, was treated at the scene for chest and leg injuries but refused medical transport, according to the UHP.
The crash is still under investigation."For whatever reason, the driver of the sedan, she wasn't able to notice the truck coming toward her," Hinton said. "There's good visibility here, it's a level area, and she should have been able to see the truck coming."
