SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY : 19-year-old man died after taxi crash on Monday, 16th July 2018

A 19-year-old man died after being hit by a Saratoga Taxi early Monday morning, city police said.
Police responded to a call at around 12:07 a.m. on State Route 9 north of Driscoll Road near the Design Motel where David Bridgegroom, of Johnsonville, was found to have sustained significant trauma to his head and body as a result of the collision. Bridgegroom was transported to Saratoga Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle that hit Bridgegroom was a 2011 Toyota Camry, which was an on-duty taxi for Saratoga Taxi, driven by 24-year-old Joseph Maheux.
Preliminary investigation shows the taxi had just picked up a fare at the Design Motel, heading northbound on State Route 9 before colliding with Bridgegroom.
