Anchorage, AK : Woman riding in a cab died after a crash in midtown on Friday night October 17th 2014

A woman riding in a cab died after a crash in midtown Anchorage but the cause of death has not been determined. Two women and a 2-year-old child were in the cab at 7:30 p.m. Friday when it was struck by a sport utility vehicle that rolled through a stop sign at 40th Avenue and Denali Street. Initial police reports said the women had received injuries that were not considered life-threatening. However, at 3 a.m. Saturday, police learned one of the women had died. An autopsy was ordered to determine whether the crash played a role in the death. The driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Bjarne Rasmussen, was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign.
